Sea Buckthorn Powder from Spiti Valley Your Daily Dose, Simplified

The juice is more potent. The powder is more practical. If you’re someone who travels, doesn’t always have a bottle to carry, or wants to add seabuckthorn to food rather than drink it – the powder is the right choice.

Same Spiti Valley berries. Same FSSAI certified source. Just a different format.

Our Seabuckthorn Powder is made from the same hand-harvested berries that go into our juice – dried and ground to a fine powder that retains the core nutrient profile in a shelf-stable, portable, versatile form. It’s not a replacement for fresh juice for everyone, but for the right user, it’s actually more useful.

What’s in Seabuckthorn Powder – and what’s preserved?

The drying process used for our powder is designed to minimise nutrient loss. While heat-sensitive compounds like Vitamin C see some reduction compared to fresh juice, the fat-soluble vitamins (A, E, K), the omega fatty acids, the carotenoids, and the flavonoids are well-preserved in dried powder form.

FSSAI certified. From Spiti Valley. Same source as our juice – just a different format. Free delivery above ₹2,500.

Nutrient Status in Powder vs Juice
Omega-7 fatty acid Well preserved Comparable
Omega-3, 6, 9 Well preserved Comparable
Carotenoids (Vitamin A) Well preserved Comparable
Vitamin E (tocopherols) Well preserved Comparable
Vitamin C Partially reduced by drying Lower than fresh juice
Flavonoids & antioxidants Largely preserved Slightly lower
Vitamin K, B vitamins Largely preserved Comparable

The honest answer: If Vitamin C is your primary goal, fresh juice is better. If you want a versatile format that's easier to use in food, equally good for omega fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins, and simpler to store and carry - the powder delivers.

How to use Seabuckthorn Powder - 6 practical ideas

1. The morning smoothie

Add half a teaspoon to your regular morning smoothie - mango, banana, and coconut milk work particularly well with seabuckthorn's tart, citrusy character. It turns the smoothie orange and adds a noticeable nutrient lift.

2. Mixed with water (quick daily dose)

Half a teaspoon in 200ml of warm water with a small amount of honey. Quick, simple, effective. This is what most of our daily-use customers do.

3. Stirred into yoghurt or curd

The powder blends well into thick yoghurt. Add a little honey and it becomes a genuinely enjoyable dessert or breakfast bowl topping. Good for people who don't like drinking tart juices.

4. Added to energy balls or laddoos

For those who make homemade energy balls (dates, nuts, oats), a teaspoon of seabuckthorn powder added to the mix gives colour, flavour, and a significant nutritional upgrade. Pairs well with almonds, cashews, and figs.

5. Into golden milk or herbal chai

A small pinch in warm turmeric milk adds citrusy depth and a nutrient complement to the anti-inflammatory turmeric base. Unexpected combination - works very well.

6. On top of fruit bowls or acai-style bowls

Sprinkle lightly over a fruit bowl for colour and nutrient addition. The powder dusts evenly and doesn't overpower other flavours at small quantities.

Frequently asked questions

Is seabuckthorn powder as nutritious as the juice?

For most nutrients - omega fatty acids, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, carotenoids, and flavonoids - yes, the powder is comparable to the juice. Vitamin C content is somewhat reduced by the drying process. If your primary goal is Vitamin C supplementation, fresh juice is the better choice. For overall seabuckthorn nutrition in a convenient format, the powder is excellent.

How much powder should I take daily?

Most people use between half a teaspoon and one teaspoon (approximately 2-4g) per day. Start with the smaller amount and increase as your palate adjusts to the flavour. There is no standard established recommended daily intake - follow the dosage on the packaging.

Can I mix seabuckthorn powder into hot drinks?

Yes - add to warm (not boiling) liquids to preserve heat-sensitive nutrients. Avoid adding to drinks that are still actively boiling, as extreme heat can degrade some vitamins.

How long does a pack last?

Storage life depends on the pack size, but dried powder generally has a longer shelf life than juice - typically 12-18 months when stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Check the best-by date on your specific pack.
